A few days ago, and bearing the Panamanian flag, SEVEN PHOENIX was launched in the City of Mikara, Japan, and counted with the presence of Honourable Ambassador and Consul of Panama, Dr. Alfredo Martiz, as part of the promotion program of Panama's Merchant Marine.
Presently, besides the growing number of countries offering flag's of convenience, Panama still sustains leadership for having increased numbers in registry. In the past, only five countries rendered Open Ship Registry (1994). Today, 21 countries compete with Panama , in seeking likewise, to disseminate the bountifulness their Registry has to offer ship owners of all latitudes.
It is relevant to highlight that visits to this particular group of ship owners seem mutually beneficial, since they build small ships, and Panamax type ships that are able to transit through the Panama Canal . Whereas, Post Panamax type ships that are also built by them, and bear our Nation's Flag, are unable to Transit the Canal, therefore, generating only partial income towards the country. Reason being for this Promotion Program of Panama's Merchant Marine, to be one of utmost relevants pertinents to shipowners of difference drafts.
The Panama Maritime Authority, is pleased with the effort achieved by Dr. Alfredo Martiz, for his dynamic Diplomatic & Consular gesture, in elevating our country's maritime power.
