JAPANESE AUTHORITIES WILL MEETS WITH THE PANAMA MARITIME AUTHORITY DEPUTY ADMINISTRATOR

 

Panama, 18th August.

Having as an agenda to promote a greater approach between Panama and Japan authorities, to discuss issues of bilateral interest, Mr. Katsuya Hihara, Director of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism of Japan, visited the Panama Maritime Authority (PMA).

It corresponded to Mr. Agustin Moreno, PMA Deputy-Administrator, to receive the Japanese delegation also comprised by Mr. Tomoyasu Izaki, Director of Marine and Policies by the Japan Embassy in Panama, Mr. Omori Sonomi and Mr. Fujii Kazuhiro, the Secretaries of the Economic Section,(responsible for infrastructure projects).

Some topics discussed during the meeting were: Maritime Safety, Vessels Operation, Pollution Prevention and Maritime Sector Development, all framed, in the position of the Panamanian Registry as a leader in flag.

Also they were attended by the PMA, Mr. Fernando Solórzano Director, of Merchant Marine, Mrs. Margareth Mosquera Deputy Director of merchant Marine, Mr. Gerardo Varela, Director of Ports and Auxiliary Maritime Industries, Mr. Tomas Avila, Secretary General, Mr. Octavio Cogley, Director of the Public Relation and Mrs. Guimara Tuñon.

It should be noted that the Japanese Authorities made an invitation to Panama, to involve PMA representatives in a seminar with them, where they will exchanged valuable information for both maritime countries.
