PMA WILL CREATE A LOGISTIC DEVELOPMENT PLAN FOR THE SECTOR OF PUERTO ARMUELLES AND VACAMONTE

The Panama Maritime Authority (PMA) is discussing with representatives of the Development of Latin America (CAF), the feasibility to start Logistics Plan Development in the areas of Vacamonte and Puerto Armuelles.
To make real this initiative Mrs. Susan Pinilla, Director of CAF, held a meeting with the Mr. Jorge Barakat Pitty Administrator of the Panama Maritime Authority, with who she exchanged view about feasibility of providing non-reimbursable cooperation, to the entity; to develop this logistics plan.
The PMA Administrator explained that this initiative seeks to improve the life style and of people that living in surrounding areas of these ports, which has a direct impact on the national economy.
Mr. Barakat said, In addition, we are interested in Panama momentum, as the logistics hub of the region, considering that is an Administration's decision, to start with the minor ports; that they are under our responsibility and they are as much social and economically important to the country.
The meeting was attended, on behalf of the CAF by Mr. Rafael Farromeque, and Mrs. Gloria Maduro and from the PMA, Mrs. Gicela Rachel Kinkead, Mrs. Migdalia Jaén, Mr. José Miguel Rovira, Mrs. Guimara Tuñon, Mr. Carlos Ernesto González de La Lastra and Mrs. Sofía Herrera.
The CAF is a Development Bank established in 1970 and formed by 18 countries in Latin America, Caribbean and Europe, as well as by 14 private banks in the region in order to promote a model of sustainable development, through operations of credit, non-reimbursable resources and support on technical and financial sector of structuring public projects and private of Latin America.
