IN BENEFIT OF FISHERMEN AND SEAFARERS, THE PMA LAUNCHES A NATIONAL PROGRAM

 

Panama, on February 4th, 2014.

The National licenses Issuance Program for motor operator out of board and ship pattern of pleasure, which is leads by the Panama Maritime Authority (PMA) through the Seafarers General Direction, culminated the year 2013 successfully with the issuance of 2,194 cards.

This year, the program will have continuity, which mainly benefits the fishermen and seafarers from areas far away around the country, with the Technical Qualification Department staff moving to these places in order to facilitate the transaction for clients concerned in obtaining their card and thus comply with the standards established for safety navigation.

In addition, attendees will be trained for free by the Institution Technical Staff, on Survival Techniques, Technical Maritime Safety for the vessels required by International Conventions, First Aid, Fire-Fighting, Nautical Nomenclature, as well as the communication equipment proper use.

The requirements to qualify for the license of pleasure ship pattern are: copy of identity card or passport, specify the length of the ship far, doctor good health certified, seafarers national waters basic courses, 4 photos size meat, postage for B/.8.00 (dollars), for nationals B/.10.00 and for foreigners B/160.00, as the cost for the procedure.

Outboard Motor Operator License is required: copy of identity card or passport, good health medical certificate, basic course for seafarers of national waters, 4 photos size meat, for postage B/.8.00 for nationals B/.10.00 and for foreigners B/.160.00 as the cost of the procedure.
