PMA PARTICIPATES IN THE 2014 CARNIVALS OPERATIVE MEETING COORDINATION

 

Panama, on February 11th, 2014.

The Panama Maritime Authority (PMA) participated in a job meeting, at the National Protection Civil System Headquarter (SINAPROC), with the purpose of coordinating the activities that will be perform in the national coverage for a Safety Carnivals Operative 2014.

The meeting was chaired by the SINAPROC General Director, Mr. Arturo Alvarado; in which each Protection Division, present, unveiled their plan and participation in the City Carnival Coverage and also in other points of the country.

The Central Command Position is located in the COE-SINAPROC in Aguadulce, Cocle Province.

The Operative will start on February 27th Thursday at 12 noon , until the holy week on March 5th  Wednesday , during these days their will deployed more than 18 thousand men and women, from different  States Protection, who will work at the National Protection Division with the purpose of saving life and the citizens properties.

The head of the PMA Security and Protection Maritime Institutional Office, Mr. Guillermo Marcos Cigarruista, indicate that the institution hold a close coordination with the Aeronaval National Service (SENAN), mainly in the operational approach for the pacific area, in the different islands and resorts in the Atlantic.

The PMA will verify the protection measures level accomplishment that include a license navigation copy, set sail permission, sparklers and torches in hand.
Vessels must also have appropriate communications equipment, safety life jackets, first aid kits, fire extinguisher and basic safety equipment.

Also in this activity they were parts the Transit and Land Transportation Authority Team (ATTT),  the National Red Cross, the National Police and the Panama Firefighters.
