A NEW NATIONAL COMMITTEE FOR THE EFFICIENCY ARRIVAL AND DEPARTURE OF SHIPS IN PANAMANIANS PORTS WERE INSTALLED
Panama, February, 24. 2014 The Panama Maritime Authority, trough the Direction General of Port and Auxiliary Maritime Industries, held the first Facilitation National Committee meeting, making officially their establishment in the country.
The National Facilitation Committee has as an essential purpose to offer and promote the necessary facilities to make more efficient the arrival, permanency and the ships departure, of the cargo and from the public in the domestic ports.
This National Facilitation Committee will manage a better coordination in the responsibilities accomplishment related to the Convention on Facilitation of International Maritime Traffic 1965 (FAL-65) and their regulation.
The activity was coordinated by the National Customer Authority (ANA), the Executive Agro Quarantine Director of the Agro Development (MIDA), National Immigration Service (SNM), Panamanian Food Security Authority (AUPSA) and the Panamanian Maritime Chamber in representation of the private sector.
The meeting was represented by the Head of the Port Department of Control and compliance, Mrs. Meredith Pinedo, the Supervisor of the Prevention and Control Contamination Department, Mr. Eliseo Carrizo, where they perform several plenary and the participants could exchange ideas and consults with the purpose of implementing mechanism to allow them to participate with ship reception in our country.
The National Facilitation Committee will have monthly meetings, with the purpose of discussing matters on the precise time about any deficiency, to offered an immediately attention to all our International Service Port clients.
