PMA CONTINUE WITH THE CLEANING OPERATION AT SAN CRISTOBAL BROOK AREA  

 

Panama, June 11th 2014.

From the beginning of the first hours of yesterday, personal from the Panama Maritime Authority (PMA) through the General Directorate of Ports and Industries Maritime Auxiliary Contamination Office, is located in San Cristobal, Colon Province, where for the result of the heavy precipitation it was overflow a Waterwheel of contingency.

Reportedly at the moment, not seen any trace or stain generated from the Waterwheel of contingency that it has been dredged, in order to avoid a similar incident.

In addition the technical personal from the Contamination Office, continue with the product cleaning that the current had dragged to a brook close to the French Canal where the barriers were deployed absorbent to collect the material and also avoid that will continue extended the stain of hydrocarbon.

Actually, the personal continue with the cleaning operation of the affected area, trying to mitigate as possible the environment location involvement, we are expecting that those work end at the next 36 hours.
