The Panama Maritime Sub-Administrator, Mrs. Zulma Castro, in company of the General Director of Merchant Marine, Mr. Alfonso Castillero, the Seafarers Director Mr. Rogelio Hernandez, the Port Director, Mr. Rogelio Barsallo, received the delegation of the International Transportation Workers Federation ITF, leaded by Jon Whitlow and Stephen Cotton.

The meeting included issue that involve tree of the Panama Maritime Authority General Directions, base on the benefits for the Seafarers that are established by the Maritime Labor Convention 2006 requirements and in a minimum general endowment aspect base on the Convention guidelines of the International Maritime Organization Safety of the Human in the Sea, known as SOLAS.

The Sub Administrator greet the Federation Members for their visit, demonstrating the huge compromise that exist between the social interlocutors and the PMA in make accomplishment with  the CTM, 2006 Provisions, on board ships with the  Panama Ship Registry, to exhort between the Panama Maritime Authority and the ITF a new channels of continue fluids communication with the purpose of benefit the Seafarers that make work in Ships with Panamanian Flag and to promote the boarding on board the ships that are under the National Flag.

We emphasize, that is the first time that a delegation from the ITF (with headquarter in London) has a close relation with the high board of directors from the Panama Maritime Authority and perform this high level visit.
