THE PANAMA MARITIME AUTHORITY PREPARES THE AREA OF FLAMENCO FOR CRUISE BERTHING
Panama, October 13.
In connection with the start of the cruise ship season, the Maritime Authority of Panama prepares an area of the Flamenco Marina, for the safe berthing of cruisers; this will promote tourism in this area.
This was announced by the responsible for the Captaincy of Balboa, Mr. Victor Caballero, who explained that they are currently coordinating operations to rearrange the Flamenco area, thereby allowing the disembark of passengers even closer to the marina.
Furthermore – Mr. Caballero added – in the Directorate of Ports and Auxiliary Maritime Industries, we are making the necessary arrangements to include a perimeter of the Flamenco Marina in the navigation chart so that cruises can berth any season of the year.
This week, as, for instance, a group of tourists from the Netherlands reached the Flamenco Marina in the cruise named Zuiderdam. More than 1,800 passengers were traveling on this cruise ship. Upon arrival, visitors felt pleased with the opportunity of exploring this tourist area of the country, which offers a great variety of restaurants, the Museum of Biodiversity and gift shops, among other attractions.
