REPRESENTATIVES FROM THE MOROCCAN GOVERNMENT MEET WITH THE ADMINISTRATOR OF THE PANAMA MARITIME AUTHORITY.

The Minister Counsellor of the Kingdom of Morocco, Mr. Mohammed Said Oualid and the Administrator of Maritime Affairs, Mr. Abderrazak Atide, met with the Administrator of the Panama Maritime Authority (PMA), Mr. Jorge Barakat Pitty, with whom, they discussed issues of bilateral interest.
The Administrator of the PMA pointed the importance of these visits, because they show the interest of countries like Morocco, in work that Panama is developing at a maritime and logistics level, particularly if we take into consideration the expansion of the Canal, which is about to be completed in 2015.
The diplomat from the Kingdom of Morocco explained to the Administrator, the interest of his country in maintaining the exchange of information with Panama, regarding logistics and maritime issues, and in order to strengthen the bonds of friendship between the two countries.
As part of this visit, the Moroccan delegation extended an invitation to the Panamanian authorities, to participate in the International Day of the Sea; an event organized by the United Nations, to be held from October 27 to 29, in Tangier.
The meeting was also attended by Mr. Alejandro Agustín Moreno, Deputy Administrator of the PMA, Mr. Tomás Ávila, Secretary General, Gerardo Varela, Director General of Ports, Mr. Fernando Solórzano, Director of Merchant Marine, and Fernando de Mena, on behalf of the Merchant Marine.
