NEW COLOSSUS OF THE SEAS NAVIGATES UNDER THE PANAMANIAN FLAG
We are pleased to announce that the Panamanian Ship Registry has added the MSC Oliver, an ultra-large container-ship (ULCS), to its list of registered ships. This fact is the tangible evidence of the continuous effort by the current administration of the Panama Maritime Authority to attract newly built ships to the Panamanian Registry.
The MSC OLIVER and the MSC OSCAR, both ships registered in the Panamanian Registry, have a load capacity of more than 19.000 TEUs. These are the first two ships in a series of six ultra-large container-ships (ULCS) of the "Olympic" series.
These ships are environmentally friendly and highly efficient. They can carry not only 35% more cargo on board, but they also consume 35% less fuel, therefore they will also reduce CO2 emission by 35%. The MSC Oliver and the MSC OSCAR have a main diesel engine that optimizes fuel consumption, based on the changing operating conditions.
The MSC OLIVER has 380.84 meters in length and a beam of 59 meters, and 22.57 meters of depth. It has a load capacity of 19.223 TEUs. Other general information about the ship includes IMO number: 9703306; manufacturing year 2015; GRT: 192,237.00; NRT: 111.432.00; cruising speed of 22, 2 knots.
The Administrator of the Panama Maritime Authority welcomes the new colossus of the seas. This inscription helps our Registry to remain as the leading one worldwide. It will also bring benefits to Panama, through the public works that the Government executes at the national level.
