THE PANAMA MARITIME AUTHORITY ATTENDS BARI SHIP 2015, THE MARITIME FAIR IN IMABARI, JAPAN.
In the context of the Maritime Fair “BARI SHIP 2015” that took place in Imabari (Japan) from May 22 to 24, Ms. Margareth Mosquera, deputy director of the Panamanian merchant marine gave a lecture on the procedures of registering ships in the Panamanian registry and on the benefits and discounts that the Panamanian flag is currently offering. The opportunity was also good to announce the opening of a new SEGUMAR office, in Imabari.
More than 6000 people attended the fair, where more than 270 maritime companies were present. The most significant shipyards in the region, several ship classification societies, ship owners and last, but not least, the Panama Maritime Authority, worldwide leader in ship registering, exhibited their products and services. It is nothing but fair to note that the Japanese shipping companies have a special predilection for the Panamanian Registry. At least 70% of their fleet sails under the Panamanian flag.
The opening of SEGUMAR Imabari aims to provide a more personalized service to the shipowners from the Southern region of Japan. A technician officer from Panama, as well as a Japanese staff with an extensive experience in the shipping industry will be in charge of the new office. The customers of the registry warmly welcomed the news of the opening of this office.
During this working visit, Mr. Rafael Aparicio (Consul of Panama in Kobe), Mr. Samuel I. Guevara G., head of SSEGUMAR Tokyo and Mr. Ricaurte Chacón, head of SEGUMAR Imabari accompanied Ms. Mosquera. In addition, staff from the General consulates of Panama in Tokyo and Kobe attended this event.
