THROUGH MR. DIEGO I. CHOU, TAIWAN'S AMBASSADOR TO PANAMA, TAIWAN TIGHTENS ITS BONDS WITH THE PMA
Mr. Diego Lin Chou, Taiwan’s Ambassador to Panama, paid an official visit to Mr. Jorge Barakat Pitty, administrator of the Panama Maritime Authority (PMA). This visit was the framework of excellence to highlight the excellent relations shared by both countries as well as the desire of strengthening and tightening commercial bonds in the future
Mr. Lin Show manifested the special interest of his government and its executives to continue supporting the initiatives of the Government of Panama. They look forward to carry out new investments in the different projects that are meant to be accomplished in the country. In this regard, the ambassador stated that his country has made investments in Panama amounting to 1500 million USD. On the other hand, Panama has made investments in Taiwan nearing 800 million USD
To the delegation of representatives from the Republic of China (Taiwan), Mr. Barakat presented a list of investment opportunities that are to be developed in Panama in a near future. Those projects touch the port sector, as much as the logistics. Among those projects, Mr. Barakat highlighted that of Port Aguadulce, the revival of Puerto Armuelles and the project meant for Puerto Vacamonte, where a multi-purpose pier is planned, that integrates both, fishing activity and treatment of goods. During this visit, Mr. Lin Show and Mr. Barakat tackled topics of interest concerning both nations.
