El administrador de la Autoridad Marítima de Panamá (AMP), Ingeniero Luis Roquebert y el equipo directivo de la institución, sustentó ante la Comisión de Presupuesto de la Asamblea Nacional, su vista presupuestaria, estimando para la vigencia fiscal 2027 un monto que asciende a B/.205.1 millones.
Del presupuesto presentado, B/.177,052,038 representan gastos de funcionamiento y B/.28,047,962 se destinarán para las inversiones.
El administrador destacó que la entidad realizará un aporte al Fisco por B/.117.5 millones, o sea el 57.3% del total delos ingresos brutos de la institución.
Entre las obras prioritarias contempladas en el presupuesto destacan la continuidad de la construcción del nuevo muelle multipropósito en Puerto Armuelles, el fortalecimiento de los sistemas de equipamiento y monitoreo para el seguimiento de buques de bandera panameña (LRIT), la implementación del Registro Electrónico de Naves (REN) y el mantenimiento integral de las ayudas a la navegación a nivel nacional.
Igualmente se destinarán fondos para el mantenimiento preventivo y correctivo de puertos menores y capitanías a nivel nacional; el sistema de Ventanilla Única Marítima de Panamá, en virtud del convenio para facilitar el tráfico marítimo internacional (FAL-65-VUMPA) y la construcción del muelle fiscal en el Distrito de Almirante en la Provincia de Bocas del Toro.
Se destacó que los ingresos provienen de las actividades de Marina Mercante, Gente de Mar, Registro Público, Puertos e Industrias Maríitmas Auxiliares.
Para el año 2027, la AMP afianza el liderazgo del país como plataforma marítima, portuaria y logística nacional e internacional, con Visión de Estado; planificacando y gestionando prioridades y fortaleciendo la coordinación institucional.
The Administrator of the Panama Maritime Authority (PMA), Engineer Luis Roquebert, together with the institution’s executive team, presented the PMA’s proposed budget before the Budget Committee of the National Assembly, outlining a total allocation of B/.205.1 million for fiscal year 2027.
Of the proposed budget, B/.177,052,038 will be allocated to operating expenses, while B/.28,047,962 will be earmarked for investment projects.
The Administrator highlighted that the institution is expected to contribute B/.117.5 million to the National Treasury, equivalent to 57.3% of the PMA’s total gross revenue.
Among the priority projects included in the budget is the continued construction of the new multipurpose pier at Puerto Armuelles, along with the strengthening of equipment and monitoring systems used to track Panamanian-flagged vessels through the Long Range Identification and Tracking (LRIT) system. The budget also provides for the implementation of the Electronic Ship Registry (REN) and the comprehensive maintenance of aids to navigation nationwide.
Funding will also support the preventive and corrective maintenance of minor ports and harbormasters’ offices throughout the country, as well as the Panama Maritime Single Window, under the Convention on Facilitation of International Maritime Traffic (FAL-65-VUMPA). In addition, resources will be allocated for the construction of the Fiscal Pier in the District of Almirante, Bocas del Toro Province.
The PMA noted that its revenues are generated through activities related to Merchant Marine, Seafarers, Public Registry, Ports, and Auxiliary Maritime Industries.
For 2027, the PMA will continue to strengthen Panama’s position as a national and international maritime, port, and logistics platform, guided by a State Vision, while planning and managing strategic priorities and reinforcing institutional coordination.
