LLEGAN MEGACRUCEROS A COLÓN 2000
Este miércoles 16 de octubre arribaron a la terminal portuaria Colón 2000, en la costa Atlántica, los buques Viking Neptune y Radiance of the Seas.
Viking Neptune forma parte de la línea naviera Viking Cruises, con registro noruego. Arriba con 814 pasajeros y una tripulación integrada por 463 personas. Luego de su travesía por costas panameñas se dirigirá a Puntarenas, Costa Rica.
Por su parte, el Radiance of the Seas, con bandera de Bahamas y perteneciente a Royal Caribbean llegó a nuestro país con 871 tripulantes y 2,077 cruceristas. Tras su visita a Panamá, el buque continuará su itinerario hacia Cartagena de Indias, Colombia.
Ambas embarcaciones realizan operación en tránsito generando un importante flujo de turistas que dinamizan la economía local a través de excursiones y compras.
Durante la temporada de cruceros, la Autoridad Marítima de Panamá (AMP), se encargará de garantizar la seguridad de tripulantes y pasajeros, velando por la gestión eficaz de las operaciones marítimas; como las entradas y las salidas, la documentación pertinente y el fiel cumplimiento de las normativas necesarias, informó la supervisora de la Capitanía de Puertos de Colón, Ciara Jiménez.
Previamente, un equipo técnico de la AMP, realizó exhaustivas inspecciones en los principales puertos del país. “La creación de infraestructuras de primer mundo, es una inversión estratégica que puede transformar nuestro país en un destino turístico aún más atractivo y competitivo a nivel internacional. Al combinar la belleza natural del país con una infraestructura moderna y una oferta turística diversificada, Panamá puede consolidar su posición como hub turístico y portuario de referencia en la región” opinó Jiménez.
Según indicadores preliminares, a la fecha, hay un total de 246 reservas de cruceros realizadas para la temporada 2024 – 2025, de las cuales 76 operaciones corresponden a Home Port (Puerto Base) y 170 a Port of Call (Puerto de Escala).
Se estima que para esta temporada llegue un aproximado de 324,000 pasajeros a en operaciones de Puerto de Escala y 145,600 pasajeros en operaciones en Puerto Base.
Entre las principales líneas de cruceros que estarán llegando a nuestro país se resaltan: Norwegian Cruise Line, Royal Caribbean, MSC Cruise, Phoenix Reisen, Princess Cruise, Carnival Cruises, Hurtigruten, Iles Du Ponant, Blount Small Ship Adventure, Peace Boat, Swan Hellenic, Viking Ocean Cruise, Residensea, Scenic Luxury, Holland América Line, Windstar Cruises, Oceania Cruises, Regent Seven Seas, Silver Seas y Seabourn.
MEGA CRUISE SHIPS ARRIVE AT COLÓN 2000
On Wednesday, October 16, the Viking Neptune and Radiance of the Seas docked at the Colón 2000 port terminal on Panama’s Atlantic coast.
The Viking Neptune, part of the Viking Cruises line and registered in Norway, arrived with 814 passengers and a crew of 463. After visiting Panamanian shores, it will head to Puntarenas, Costa Rica.
Meanwhile, the Bahamian-flagged Radiance of the Seas, operated by Royal Caribbean, arrived with 871 crew members and 2,077 passengers. After its stop in Panama, the ship will continue its journey to Cartagena de Indias, Colombia.
Both vessels are in transit, bringing a significant influx of tourists who stimulate the local economy through excursions and shopping.
During the cruise season, the Panama Maritime Authority (PMA) will ensure the safety of crew and passengers, overseeing the efficient management of maritime operations, including entries and departures, required documentation, and full compliance with necessary regulations, according to Ciara Jiménez, supervisor of the Colón Port Captaincy.
Earlier, a technical team from the PMA conducted thorough inspections at major ports nationwide. “Developing world-class infrastructure is a strategic investment that can transform our country into an even more attractive and competitive international tourist destination. By combining the country’s natural beauty with modern infrastructure and a diversified tourism offering, Panama can solidify its position as a leading tourism and port hub in the region,” Jiménez remarked.
Preliminary figures indicate that a total of 246 cruise reservations have been made for the 2024-2025 season, with 76 homeport operations and 170 port-of-call operations.
