La Autoridad Marítima de Panamá (AMP) inauguró su stand en la versión 68.ª de la Feria Internacional de San José de David (FIDA), en la provincia de Chiriquí.
El administrador de la AMP, Luis Roquebert, realizó el corte de cinta junto a su equipo de trabajo y expresó su satisfacción de pertenecer a una entidad que adelanta un legado en cuanto al desarrollo logístico, portuario y marítimo en el país, con las obras que se tienen programada para el quinquenio 2024-2029, como lo es, el nuevo Puerto Armuelles.
Luego de la inauguración del stand, Roquebert acompañó al Presidente de la República, José Raúl Mulino en el corte de inauguración de la FIDA y en el recorrido por las diferentes exhibiciones empresariales y exposiciones de las difetentes entidades.
La Feria Internacional de David es un evento anual que busca promover el desarrollo económico, cultural y social de la región; además de dar a conocer la cultura, gastronomía, tradiciones y el folclore de la altiva provincia.
Durante diez días, la FIDA se convierte en la vitrina donde entidades darán a conocer todos los programas, obras y proyectos que desarrolla el Gobierno Nacional en la provincia de Chiriquí y otros sectores del país en beneficio de las poblaciones panameñas.
La AMP por su parte, comunicará sobre el potencial que tiene Panamá, como país líder del abanderamiento de naves y las grandes oportunidades que se presentan para nuestra gente de mar. Además, se proyectarán los proyectos que se ejecutan para el impulso del sector logístico, marítimo y portuario del país, y que impactarán la región latinoamericana.
Uno de los proyectos emblemáticos en Chirquí es el rediseño del Puerto Armuelles, una obra multipropósito que impulsará el desarrollo económico de la región. Con una inversión de B/.21.2 millones generarán 200 empleos directos durante su construcción y una vez completado, impulsará la creación de nuevos puestos de trabajo en diversos sectores, dinamizando así la economía local y mejorando la calidad de vida de los habitantes.

AMP Administrator Luis Roquebert presided over the ribbon-cutting ceremony alongside his team, expressing his pride in being part of an institution dedicated to shaping the country’s logistics, port, and maritime development. He highlighted the significant projects planned for the 2024-2029 period, such as the new Puerto Armuelles.
Following the booth’s inauguration, Roquebert accompanied the President of the Republic, José Raúl Mulino, during the official opening of the fair and participated in a tour of the various business exhibits and institutional displays.
The San José de David International Fair is an annual event aimed at promoting the economic, cultural, and social development of the region while showcasing the rich culture, gastronomy, traditions, and folklore of this proud province.
Over the course of ten days, FIDA serves as a platform for institutions to present the programs, initiatives, and projects led by the National Government in Chiriquí and other areas of the country, all with the goal of benefiting Panamanian communities.
The PMA, in turn, will spotlight Panama’s role as a global leader in ship registration and the vast opportunities available for Panamanian seafarers. Furthermore, the Authority will present the key projects driving growth in the country’s logistics, maritime, and port sectors, with a focus on creating a lasting impact throughout the Latin American region.
One of the flagship projects in Chiriquí is the redevelopment of Puerto Armuelles — a multipurpose infrastructure initiative set to catalyze economic growth in the region. With an investment of B/.21.2 million, the project is expected to generate 200 direct jobs during its construction phase. Once completed, it will open doors to new employment opportunities across various sectors, stimulating the local economy and enhancing the quality of life for residents.
